Whats the story with sandvik speed tip bars? Ive searched and basically found that they are made by, or have become part of windsor. Can I still find sandvik speed tips, or is it all windsor now? I think the sandviks look sharp on the Stihls.

Don't know the whole story, but they were made by Sandvik for years. They then became Winsor/Sandvik for a while and now they are Windsor speed tips. The Windsor Speed tips are made in the same factory that the oregons are. IMO they are a softer steel than they used to be. They still use the same style tip as the old Sandviks did. I like the old ones too. here is a pic of a couple for you

Thanks. That was the only bar for it that had paint on it....lol. It didn't start out looking that good...Check out the progress HERE
All it took was a couple bearings, seals, rings, carb kit, fuel lines, mounts, covers, clutch, oil pump, brake handle, paint, decals, etc. lol.

And deep pockets  I like how it completely dwarfs that 066. Mill any lumber yet? I know Ohio has been under a foot or two of snow lately.

No, haven't milled anything with it yet. Been gone a lot for work lately. just got back from Chicago where I worked 96 hours last week.....Most of the snow melted while I was gone. Just been too busy to even play with some saws let alone use them.

It is a monster with the small (21" bar) lol. Would hate to have to lug this thing around in the woods with a long bar like a 42" all day.....

I like the word Dwarf....lol. Definately a unique sound to them, that is for sure.

Oh, come on Freak, "real men" carry a 120cc saw all day...we hear from one about every month or two...."gotta have a big one".

I've got plans though. Just wait and see. Chopwood is gonna be proud.

Wow, steve, that thing looks like the opposite the way you got it. WOW! I am going to do the same thing with two 044's and a 372, I will post the pics of them when I get them and of the process of me fixin' them up. They will have the following mods, 044 BB kit with ports ported, DP muffler Walker style, max flow air filter kit on one of them, stock filter on other, maybe 8 pin sproket, I think they will pull it with ease with all those mods. Of course all painted up and new parts where needed. :D :buttkick:
