There are a couple nurseries in Michigan which grow, sell, and ship hardwood seedlings. Porcupine Hollow Tree Farm (porkyfarm.com), and Cold Stream Farm (coldstreamfarm.net). I have purchased seedlings from Cold Stream and was pleased with the service and quality of seedling. An uncle of mine has also purchased seedlings from the NY State Department of Conservation (or whatever it is called now). Many states have nurseries that grow and sell seedlings, but I don't think Vermont does. Personally I would avoid the Arbor Day foundation for seedlings as I don't think they could provide a large quantity of trees and you don't know what geographic region the trees are coming from. I hope this helps some and you find what you need!
