I looked at a Chestnut today in the City.
They called to have dead wood removed.
Once I noticed the bark gone at the trunk, I was thinking removal.
Other symptoms include yellow/greening of leaves and some die-back up top.
Some leaf blotch (guignardia?) scattered throughout entire canopy.
Dead wood, where bark is gone, is dry and cracked
Most of area under dripline is paved.
I'm interested to hear what you guys think and if it's worth trying to nurture back to health.
