Is there a company that sells the parts to convert these old saws to a smaller pitch-guage chain ? Thanks for any help

What model saw, what pitch is it running?

I've not been able to find a source like that but I have got a list of saw shops that specialize in obsolete parts. Depending on what you have you may be able to locate a drum that uses interchangable hubs for different chain pitchs. I just did this for my McCulloch 440. Let me know I could send you the list if you need it.

Welcome aboard! Putt1, what saw(s) are you working on?

FBH, I'm interested that list; you can never have too many sources for obsolete parts.

Thanks for the welcome! :)

Thanks for the welcome, i'm an engine nut, and old saws are a passion right now. My current saws are a couple of Strunk saws, a Machete Speedemon and an All Position Speedemon. The chain is a 1/2 " pitch.

Hmmm i have one too.

That may be a problem because it is most likely is a gear drive saw with a spur. For a good machinist,a spur is not difficult to make, just time consuming.I'm a fair machine hand and it takes me about 4 hours.
