Want a new medium saw. I'm thinking a choice between Stihl 361, Husqvarna 562, Dolmar 6400.

What saw would you choose if you wanted a new one around 60cc? I have a 372xp I want something as a secondary saw. Something that can fell big trees but a little less money and lighter so I can use it all day to buck up logs.

550XP (Revboost) or 562XP...

I have Stihl too. I have a 241 270, 290. I have 200t I want something to replace my 290. Smaller than my 372. Hardwood to answer your question. Large trees. My 372 is good for big ones.

261 is what I use, then I go right to the 440 after that. . But I tell you what my 241 C has now become my favorite limbing saw. Basically I use the 241 , 261 and 440 mainly.

Thanks Lone Wolf. So basically you're saying the 261. Instead of the 361. That might be just what I need. I too like Stihl saws. I just love my 372. Otherwise I have no prejudice. The 261 does look like a real good all around saw and costs less then the 361. I really like my 241. I use it for most for climbing.

There was a nice 261c-m in trading post. I think it is still listed. Just went and looked and it is marked sold now.
Yeh that was the first saw I thought of after Wolf recommended him the 261, but Brad's is showing 'sold.' That was a good deal on that 261-C PHO.

The 361 is just around the same weight as the 372 Husky.

I'll keep an eye out. Just looked up the 261 specs. I like it. I've checked it out at the dealer. The 550xp looks kick ass too. Anyone have one that can comment on it? I know it has over 4 hp and (revboost) whatever that is. I like the xp saws. Both saws are at the same dealer. Sounds like a fun dilemma. I like breaking in a new chainsaw. I'll take a used one if the price is right. I need reliable equipment. Anything that doesn't work is gonna cost me money. I always bring back ups just in case.
