Do a search in the chainsaw forum. I remember someone being mentioned with a name like that, Saw-King, thechainsawguy, sawRus, or something like that. I don't think it was a positive report. Though I seem to remember looking at an auction of his the other day, and his feedback looks good.

I bought a 036 pro from him about a year ago and it was a good saw it had a minor choke problem but nothing a pait of pliers could not fix. Not a bad guy in general. I would buy from him again.

got a homelite super 2000 from him 6 months ago. he described saw just as it was and shipped when said he was going to. i would by another saw from him

All the legal "fine print" he puts in his ad will enlighten anyone that reads it. He basically protects himself against all problems that may crop up and they will all be resolved in his favor. If you realize this going in, you may come out with a saw you will be able utilize. Mike

I purchased a Dolmar 166 from him 5-6 years ago. I had no problems smooth transaction.

Thanks for all the replies folks, I figgered a few people here would have bought from him at one time or another. He has some interesting saws for sale occasionally. Sounds like he's one of the few good guys on Ebay.

I bought a 48" bar from Saw-King on Ebay a couple years ago. Fast shipping and the item arrived as described. Then a couple of months later, I needed a starter housing for a 090. I called him up and he went out to his shed and found a used one that he sold to me for $30. He used to have his phone number on the listing.

Question

He has this little disclaimer included in the stuff at the bottom of the listing

" If using Paypal, please have confirmed address as I will not accept payment with an unconfirmed address"

Can someone explain to me what the benefits of this to him are?

I have bought from him several times, and always worked out just fine. I am sure at one time or another there will be a problem with him, like everyone else, but I think he is pretty good guy.

If he ships something to an unconfirmed address he's not protected by paypals seller protection policy. I think confirmed just means that you are shipping to the same address as the billing address on the credit card you have on file with paypal.

I bought a J-Red from him, runs as specified, no BS, just business. I will buy from him again!

When I looked into it, I was under the impression that the only way you could get a confirmed address was to become verified which means giving them access to your bank acct.

Russ, They don't dink around with the bank account other than the 33 cents or whatever to confirm they have the correct info. The verified/confirmed address helps protect everyone involved from fraud/identity theft. I like PayPal.-Being verified lets me pay direct from my checking account and avoid the plastic.

Only shipping to confirmed addresses keeps someone from having stuff shipped to their house on your account, should they get access.

Thanks Justin, When I first thought about getting a paypal acct. I did a google search for problems with them. Maybe I have been overly concerned by the horror stories that I found. Until I have the need to sell something, I think I will stay unverified.

Russ,

What I did was to set up a seperate checking account for Paypal verification and I only keep a little cash in it. I too am a bit cautious about giving out this kind of info.

Dan
