I feel left out when you fellas post your group shots of fine chainsaws.. So I figure just for fun I would post up the tools I use, missing is my new corona pole pruner/saw which doesn't saw worth a poop.

oops, forgot to resize the pic sorry to any dial up folks.

While I can't speak directly for Paul, at least one of the knives appeared to be a grafting/budding knife. I do know that he used to work at a nursery, so that explains that knife. As for the other knives, well, I carry three on me on a daily basis (yes, three)... A man can never carry too many knives with him!:D

One of my knives is clipped in my right front pocket, it sees the most use. I also carry a small Swiss army knife, it's got scissors, tweezers and a toothpick; all used fairly regularly. My third comes in the form of a Gerber multi-plier. That should be self-explanatory! This is in addition to the pair of pruners that I have with me at work about half of the time. And sometimes I even have my Super Accel with me too.;)

Not to hi-jack Paul's thread here, but how many knives do you carry on a daily basis, and why?

hm. the knives are for budding, grafting and cutting string and such. usually only have one on my toolbelt at any one time a basic 8$ pocket knife, if I am doing fun or fancy stuff I carry one of the pruning knives.

knives

I carry a small Case 2 blade that I've had for nearly 30 years, in my pocket. I sent it back to case last year and had them put new blades on it. One Stanley knife in the tool box for cutting ropes on the job. If a rope goes bad it needs to be cut up before it gets used again. I'm sure there is another knife in the first-aid kit.

Jimmeyq, you have a nice collection there to do most trimming and pruning. I haven't done much grafting in years. Used to do apple orchards and you hardly ever needed a chainsaw in the orchards but you needed good, sharp handsaws and knives.

I gave the kid next door a new Swiss Army knife for his birthday last year. Accually, I gave it to his dad (scoutmaster) to give to his son the boyscout. His dad can teach him the proper use and care of the knife. They go camping nearly every weekend in the summer.

One, a swiss army knife on my keychain. The blade is all but useless. But, the scissors, can opener, corkscrew, bottle opener, and hole punch get used.
