Umm any number of reasons really the size of the starter pulley or the squish maybe the china saws have a bug ring end gap umm thin ring vs thick perhaps. Just different designs
You don't need to fab anything up, if you want a throttle lock buy a tank/handle that has one.

I sticking with what I posted first tho, tune your carb.
I have 2 of these now and had a different one before too, that's 3 total, none of them had a throttle lock and none of them started hard at all, they start super easy.
Ok I will definitely take a good look at the carb and tune it and the idle speed. Seeing the lock in the marketing materials and then the mold delete on the real saw get me thinking there was more to the story. Why do the pro saws all have a half throttle setting to start if it's seemingly doable at idle? Just for the added reliability?
