So who has them and what do you think? I ordered a large deluxe version today. Wondering if its worth the extra money over there large basic version.
One of my guys has the basic version and I thought it was well made.

Don't toss them out of the tree!

I was really happy until the first time that I had to redirect my line and tossed the bag out of the tree after hauling the line up... All three struts that keep the bag upright blew out the top :msp_angry:
I end up redirecting my line like that at least a few times a month, so that's just unacceptable for me.

I cruise the thrift stores for stuff like that. You can find some workable bags for CHEAP and you tend not to be overly upset when they rip.

Actually, an old golf club bag works very well for ropes. I also found a hockey puck bag that is practically industructable and I was able to change the P to an F real easily and you can't do that with a Sherrill bag.

Go to Army/Navy surplus stores, the big old top loading boot camp bags work great for large rope storage.

I use them aready for all my bigger rigging lines.

And if you are really cheap an old ********** could work.

Last year I bought the big Delux bag from Sherrill. It holds my long 30 ft lanyard, 150 ft of PI climb rope, rigged out Glide harness ( including handsaw ), helmet, gloves, and fold up throwline cube with 2 throwlines. I just grab it and the Big Shot for prune jobs. Ok, sometimes I grab the 200T as well. Truth is, I find it very handy to have it all in one bag. The helmet and throw lines sit on top so I grab them first. Then put on the saddle and pull up the PI with the throwline. If I plan on using the long lanyard, I just grab it from under the remaining climb line. I normally leave the bag under the tree for small branch prune work, but move it to a safe area before dropping heavy chunks. Of course if dropping that much wood, I'm probably going to pull the tail up two or three times anyways as I work through the tree.
