I added this one to the herd. I've got a couple of 416's but this is the first 415. The lower fuel line had gone AWOL so I put in a new one, cleaned the carb and put in new diaphragms. It started fine but I couldn't get it to hold an idle without cranking the idle speed way up.
I had a spare carb so I swapped them and it ran fine. Put a little grind on the chain and a little paint on the bar and am looking forward to trying her in some wood.
This one looks to be in fine shape.

You always get the good stuff! That saw is minty...no paint missing.

More impressive than the saw is your collection of cassette tapes and VHS storage cabinets.

Hello, I am working on a friend's 415 and seem to be having carb/fuel supply issues. The fuel line on these saws is in 3 pieces. Is there any trick to the assemply of it? I mean there's a part in the tank, there's a connector piece, and a top line that runs to the carb. It seems like it's leaking air in the fuel line but I've replaced all 3 parts. I had the saw running great once but found the tank vent was leaking so had to break open that fuel line at the connector/top of tank to replace the vent after that it's like it's sucking air in the line. Will start but then start to lean out then stall. Do you put any sealer around the connector where it goes into the top line/tank pickup line? Ive never worked on these saws before and find this to be a suspect arrangement of a fuel line. Any help would be appreciated.
