Does anyone know anything about a Shindaiwa 680. I have never had one before and I am wondering what their quality level is. I checked Mike's site but I did not see any specs there. I would assume it is about 68cc but I would like to here from someone who knows for sure.

Thanks,
Bill

The 680 debuted when Husky was selling the 266, not yet the 266XP. It was an absolute screamer (faster than the 266) and extremely light......too light it turned out. Almost all of the original ones had a drastically short lifespan. I believe it was drive side crank bearings??? Not sure.

Just came upon this thread. I had one of those POS years ago. It burned out on the first good sized tree I used it on. Shindaiwa mechanic told me a lot of them did not last very long. Never bought a Shindaiwa chainsaw since. I would not buy one, nor would I even take one for free.
