sometime over the night my shop got robbed. the guys took every saw, a bunch of log splitter parts.. my tool set (mostly snap on) 2 transfer pumps, a set of super swamper tires, a drill press and a onan engine. the only 2 saws i have left are a husky model 41 that was hidden beside a wood pile and a echo 4400 that was in the back of my truck. i thankfully have insurance but it still sucks. id never guess the average theif would take that sort of stuff. just bummed and needed to vent thanks

Sorry to hear that. Hope it works out best as possible. I'd be furious. Thieves and the revolving door "justice" system....don't get me started on a rant.

Did you have an alarm system?

Good luck.

Stolen saws:

I know how you feel. I get purturbed if I misplace a tool and can't find it right off when I need it. I would go insane from madness if someone stole anything from me. Have been lucky all these years. My guess someone recently scoped out the shop or had a good idea of what you had and came back for a haul. Glad you had insurance, but that doesn't pay for the agrivation or the slap in the face. Some dopers looking for durg money. Hope they're caught and do some time. Take care. Lewis.

Rocky,

I agree!

The alarm tells the property owner that it is time to get the pain-inducing, fear-inspiring Glock and German Sheperd and head out to the barn.

(OK. For the record, I'm kidding. In my area, one must be in immediate and otherwise unavoidable danger of grave bodily harm or death to use deadly force. BUT, if you are in one of the last remaining free places in the US where the society is still polite, the castle doctrine reigns, and one may use force in the defense of "mere property", then lock, load, and deter away!)

they dumped out my garbadge can and used it to haul everything out with. there was alot of stuff that was not on my insurance list. good news is they left all the firewood:) a few years ago i caught some kid prying the door open. i have a 20 guage shot gun that has bean bag rounds my brother (conn. state trooper )gave me. the he was a little out of range but that bag had to have left a bruise. i didnt call the cops cause i figured the pain was enough.

they didnt see tat stupid oregon chain grinder it was in the box under a bench. so i have 2 saws (one running the other not) and a oregon model 511a grinder . not too much to get work done with.

Wedge, Where in NY are you? I could lend you a few saws. I am in Beacon, where rt 84 crosses the Hudson river. This is a serious offer.

Actually shooting someone for stealing property will get criminal charges against you. You can now only shoot in self defense of yourself or in some places other people.

With that said, it would be hard for a dead trespasser to challenge your story that they grabbed that knife outta your kitchen and you were protecting your family....

Fock it, shoot first ask questions later.

I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Thats why I have a good guard dog, keep EVERYONE away, unless I want em there.

an alert dog is the best security money can buy, and it defends your property and you. plus the dog bites put a hurtin on the burglar, making that guy less likely to try again(unless he's dumber than me).

sorry to hear about the loss, at least you have insurance to cover most of it.

They come through my door there gonna wish it was only a wound.

today i realized that a bunch of stuff i HAD wasnt listed. i havent updated it in awhile.(a mistake thatll never happen again). amongst other things was a 372 xp that i got from eric copsey and was my daily use saw. ill tell u what of all the ???? they took ill miss that saw the most. any how im hunting for a saw and sellin a few things to get the funds. its a little tight here because my wife had my 2nd kid under a month ago (lord gives and takes away i guess) so im heavily invested in daipers right now. plus a long standing contract i have with a mentally challenged facility in coming due soon( the handicapped residents bag it and sell it at local grocery stores and gas stations for $8 for 1.5 cu ft. they make a killing) i owe them a hair shy of 20 cords or theyll break my legs:)

by the way you guys are the best crew bless u all
