I'm so stinkin' mad ! ! ! On April 8th I bought two old Homelite XL saws from a guy on eBay from a guy in Maine, he would'nt accept pay-pal - only money orders so on the 9th I sent him a postal money order via priority mail. He sends me an email on Tuesday the 17th saying he has not recieved payment. I emailed him back and told him I could'nt get to the post office until Thursday the 19th due to my work schedule and would have them check the tracking number and see what happened to it. I also told him if it had'nt been delivered I'd send another money order out priority mail. Before I could get to the post office Thursday he files a non-paying bidder dispute with eBay, so now they're on my back. I sent another money order out Yesterday, Friday the 20th along with documentation and a photo copy of the original money order reciept to verify with him that I was telling the truth. I check my email tonight and theres a nasty email from him saying that "this has gone on long enough, he's doing his final cleaning" (whatever this is supposed to mean) and tells me the saws have been relisted. I am I wrong or is this guy being a pr*ck? He won't even give me a chance......... Matt

Well it's 11 days but I'd understand if you couldn't make it there. Especially if you showed him the receipt. And it's his fault since he wouldn't take paypal. If he wouldn't take paypal he should give you more time to pay. You probably just got a jerk. Evan

Matt, I'd be mad too...

If he was in such a hurry, why did he wait until the 17th to notify you that he had not recieved payment? You tell him your going to send another money order (like he specified in the first place) and he waits only two days and gets nasty. What a jerk!!!

Should you be mad? Yes.

Mad at yourself.

You got scammed. You paid by money order - good as cash. Then you sent more cash.

Write it off. You aren't getting your money back. You aren't getting a saw.

Hopefully you are getting a valuable lesson.

If you don't get your money back, that's Postal fraud and the US Postmaster General takes that pretty seriously.

If you are goin to wait 11 days to make a payment maybe just wait till you have more time to send the money out before you bid...I only allow 7 days max for payments and i have yet to wait that long...Usually its within 3 days or so...I mean 11 days is almost half a month...It is not good for him to get nasty about it tho...

Every story has two sides, but if you've only talked to him via one or two emails, then he may be jumping the gun. But eleven days is a long time. I stipulate that payment must be sent, received, or arrangements made within three days. If a guy can't make it to the post office, but he contacts me explaining why, I'll give him time.

But I'm with Mark on this one, you sending two money orders raised my eyebrow. I'll only bid with PayPal and a credit card. Period.

Jeff

Make sure he didnt receive the MO's and cash them. If he did, then demand your saw. If he received both of them and cashed them, do as mentioned, call the PMG and file a mail fraud claim.

Just emailed the guy.....I would really think about what you are doin here...The guy who won these last time has already sent you 2 money orders...Maybe try and resolve stuff before relisting and bashing another user...Thanks

I did'nt wait 11 days - I sent the first money order the very next day, 04/09 after I won the auction - it was sent priority mail with delivery confirmation. He contacted me on the 17th saying payment had not been recieved. I went to the post office and they checked the number and told me it had not been delivered. I first sent him an email to verify his address and sent him a second money order yesterday all the while keeping him informed of what I was doing. Matt

Ok, you had delivery confirmation on the first MO. Did you have delvery confirmation on the second MO?

Where did the first MO go? If it was not delivered, you should be getting it back. Ditto for the second. If you get a deivery confimation for either MO or both and you don't get your saws, you got him.

Someone should send him a link to this thread.

In the auction payment details he shows Paypal accepted. you should have held him to it. Report to ebay that he insisted on a money order and refused the Paypal payment, that will bring Ebay down on him. Go to the Post office and file a trace on the money order. Never resend a money order. Always tell the seller you will have to wait for the PO trace. Chances are he got the money order and cashed it but did not want to complete the sale with you based on the closing $2.25 price.
If he cashed it the PO will hunt him down.

He won the item on the 8th, and then sent the first payment on the 9th. Then on the 17th he gets an e-mail from the seller saying he hasn't received the payment, and 2 days later makes it to the post office to check on it. Pretty fast IMO.

I did'nt wait 11 days -

I didn't say you did. What I meant was that eleven days is a long time from his point of view. He's got 533 transactions with 99.6% positive, so he must be doing something right.

Did you give him the tracking number so he could see for himself it wasn't delivered?

Sorry to say it...bit the PO will not trace a MO until 60 days after purchase. Went through this whole mess earlier this year. Contacted the seller, he was cool and we got it worked out. I filed a claim on the MO, PO then delivered the original MO 70days after mailing, the guy sent it back to me, I cashed the original MO, then two days later a refund for the MO showed up. Still sittn' on the 'fridge. PO is sorry...:blob2:
