I didn't say you did. What I meant was that eleven days is a long time from his point of view. He's got 533 transactions with 99.6% positive, so he must be doing something right.

Did you give him the tracking number so he could see for himself it wasn't delivered?

Yes, I provided him with the number when he first emailed me saying he had'nt recieved payment.

I have 2245 transactions with 99.9% positive (my username is evhrwg) - I did'nt get this far by being a "NON-PAYING DEADBEAT BIDDER" I take care of business - ask anyone who's ever dealt with me on eBay. Matt

I didn't understand that you already sent a MO out on the 9th. You should be mad. He can't be mad at you since it's the PO's fault. I'd try and get it worked out with ebay with the whole already sent 2 MO's. Evan

Yep, I knew it was HaVVey the minute I read the first post in this thread.

Ive dealt with him before and did not have any troubles. But then again I have also discussed with him why he left AS and his reasoning was kinda shaky, nothing the rest of us havent been through and he didnt even go the "Seig Hiel" thread route........

Id say since hes an EX member we could talk him down, but he seemed REALLY pissed at this place and this may work against a resolution.

Ill also contact him and see what can be done.

... the plot thickens ...

FWIW, yes you should be mad. But NEVER EVER EVER send a money order to anybody. If they don't accept paypal, then they aren't getting my business.

Well, you've dealt with me Eric, as has Randy Mac, Bump_r and a few other AS members - you all know that I'm a stand up guy and I take care of business promptly. When I started this thread my intentions were not to bash this gentleman or to accuse him of being a thief. I know he did'nt recieve the first payment or the post office would have a record of it being delivered. The reason for my anger is that I got the feeling that he did'nt believe I had really sent the payment the first time and because he's been so impatient with me - I don't appreciate being called a non-paying deadbeat bidder. To his credit, I recieved an email from him today and he told me that he believes it is a postal problem and that he'd like to get this straightened out. Thats all I want myself - I just want the non-paying bidder dispute closed, which will take his input. I don't even care about the saws, I just want to get eBay off my back over this. Matt

As an active buyer and seller on e-bay, I have had problems both ways.
I have bought things that were duds, and have had non-paying bidders.
I have never been even tempted to give anyone a neg feedback, as
that is a two edged sword. I have had slow payers, and have just re-invoiced them and if they do not pay, I let it drop, as my %100 is worth more
to me, so I think it is odd he would not be more patient, because you could give him a negative as well.

Should you be mad? Yes.

Mad at yourself.

You got scammed. You paid by money order - good as cash. Then you sent more cash.

Write it off. You aren't getting your money back. You aren't getting a saw.

Hopefully you are getting a valuable lesson.

+1.

I don't see any reason for paying by money order, or demanding payment in the form of a money order. I figure that if someone is going to do business on eBay, whether as a buyer or a seller, they ought to suck it up and get a PayPal account.

Well, hopefully he learns to be more patient OR to tell his buyers that if he doesn't receive payment in X amount of days then he's going to re-list the item(s). Bottom line though, nobody should treat customers/potential customers that way, by stating that you are a "deadbeat" bidder.

One thing that's for sure: A good business/Co./seller's name will spread very quickly but a BAD one will spread twice as fast.

Yup, I won an item on "the 'bay" from Matt just as I was coming up on a log weekend or some such thing that prevented me from jumping on the money order as fast as I'd have liked to. ONE e-mail 'splaining that I wasn't jerking him off and that I was, in fact, buying the item, and all was cool. Things happen.

FWIW, you get some that proclaim PayPal as the only way to go, and just as many saying money orders sent through USPS gives you the best protection. Bottom line, for what I'd pay for an item sight-unseen from a total stranger, neither one would be worth pursuing for very long befoer i got to my "screw it, I should have known better, I'm a 'tard" point.

Damn right your a stand up guy, hope you didnt take me the wrong way.

I dont feel you bashing him, I think he jumped the gun. I figured that after 72 Emails asking him to work this out he would see things a lil differently. I personally could only send 64 before my ISP's Spam filter kicked in, Thanks to the other eight of you who sent him one also.

Did he Neg you?

If so it may be difficult to get that removed, you will need his help with this.

So far its looking better though.

Hah!

I was just looking at some Homelite auctions and hehad some parts up. Figure I would see for myself if you negged him and you didnt, but someone else did only a few hours ago!

.

was watching those

I was watching those saws, I didn't buy them because he didn't take pay pal. Rule # 1 with ebay. Always buy thru pay pal, and use a credit card to pay. This way you are double protected. If pay pal won't help you, you can do a chargeback on your credit card.
