1st pic just to set the mood, beautiful chilly day on the river.Bet you city guys don't get a view like this this everyday.:greenchainsaw:2nd what lies ahead.White oak about 60 or better DBH,top blowed out, only two leads, both 25 in.or better at trunk, left one over house second over river. No tie in points,no bucket access,I could have crawled through hole in tree. Not much meat left on back side, climbers weight will be on front side with all the weight remaining.A little shatty to say least.
Any takers? What would you guys do tree for.Chip brush wood stays 16 in.Curious Not the best photographer.

Beautiful spot to work.

I am betting that you aren't really asking whether that tree should be climbed :)

Hard to say what I would do without seeing the drop zones around it. Maybe you could pull out whole tops or drop entire leaders. Its hard to give an opinion over the internet. I definately wouldn't rig out of that tree though. I'd cut and toss or pull stuff out..... Good luck and be safe.... If your not sure pass or get a crane.... Maybe you could rig off another tree or two? Mike

ozark,

I know you said no bucket access, how about a self propelled unit or a towable with winch? we`ve got our unit into alot of tight or what was thought to be inaccessable spots.

good luck, be safe!

Self propelled maybe tow able no.Steep grade walk walkways on both sides, next to woodline which cannot cut for access.Crane closet one hour and half away.rate would be about 650 four an hours worth of work.Ho,s around here don't go for that, unfortunately. So we usually end up hillbilly riggin it.
