what fittings do you use for the connection from the 3/4" copper tubing to the hot water heater?-- thinking copper to the females fittings on hot water heater then 90 sharks fittings to copper again, being the shark fittings can be disconnect also?? THANKS Geo.

Mine is soldered, with unions for disassembly. With NPT/sweat adaptors where needed. Have the bottom T'd into the bottom water heater inlet (its a bottom feed), the top is T'd into the relief valve port. If you have a top feed heater, you can T the bottom into the drain port. Mount it as low and close as possible - any horizontalness in the piping will reduce its ability to convect. Might also want to T in a couple boiler drains and some isolating ball valves for easy flushing - sidearms aren't as bad for crudding up as flat plates, but it has happened before.
