where can a guy rent a skidder with a lift?

any thoughts

what about purchasing older unit?

I don't think you can normally rent a skidder. A skid steer, sure. Those sometimes have hydraulics, is that what you meant?

Well....and trying to say with a straight face....I said "skidder with a lift" not skid steer. Most if not all of the major power line clearance companies use them for rough terrain. They exist and in this country, most things are for sell or rent. I have contacted Townsend to see if they want to sub the work but if I can rent one, then I would rather not get another company involved.

I realize this is an unusual rental request and therefore I posted on here to see if anyone has rented one before and thus help me out.

Usually called a skidder-bucket around here. Spent a couple years on one in the mid 90's. Never seen one for rent-they are way too easy for the inexperienced to screw up.
