Not trying to ask a noob question, here, and I have read a bunch of the saddle threads...What saddles are you bony hipped skinny guys wearing? I'm pushing forty, and would like to be able to walk the next day...

I am kind of wobbling between the sequoia, and the treemotion, maybe a master classic or deluxe...

I am partial to the master classic, but am considering the deluxe for the quick snaps on the leg straps.

I mainly do removals and find that I do not require the floating bridge, but like all the front connection points the master classic has to offer.

I do find that when loaded (lots of gear, or a 460 hanging off my hip) that the saddle does want to slide down a bit, but buckingham does make a shoulder harness that will solve that problem. Me, I just live with it...... but I may get one with a new saddle.

I have the treemotion and am a bigger guy (240lbs, 6'2", 40" waist). The treemotion comes in one size only and is spec'd to go up to about 36" max. I didn't know this before buying it, but it was fit quite well. The D's do dig on the hip bones if standing on spurs and leaning heavily for more than a couple hours, but this is mainly because you can't reposition the D's and they positioned to suit someone skinnier.

It's very heavily padded, almost infinitely adjustable and very comfy. I'd thoroughly recommend it for a skinny guy. A guy I climb with who has the ergovation and is a small guy borrowed it for a few days and said it was the most comfortable harness he's ever worn. It's definitely the most comfortable I've ever worn.

145lbs here i use good ol weaver wide back floating D ring saddle. Shouldve got a small but didnt like where the side D's sit on it so i got the medium on the smallest loop and its a little loose, i have no back side to keep it up on my so when i got the chainsaw on i need to 'hike' it up every now and again. Have a nice old pair of suspenders that help when i use them. Really depends how much you gonna be hangin, my buddy has the sequia swing and that is mighty comfy IMO

whatever you get, try it on first. Im 6-1 , hundred an 60lbs. Made the mistake of thinkin Id 'grow' into my saddle. Tightest notch on the belt I slop all over. That was 03. Get one with that cushion on the wide back, GAWD thats nice. I like the 2 D rings myself, but I came up old school. Find your way, know your needs, and get what will suit what your most comfortable when you add it all together.

Treemotion all the way. I've had mine for about 6 months now and it is simply amazing. Very comfortable and the wide back pad is awesome.

well, I busted out a little four hundred dollar prune job that She Who Must Be Obeyed wrote off for toys...so I ordered the master deluxe, a new split tail, new friction saver and (don't laugh) the tree climbers guide..

Most of my professional climbing experience has been climbing four stacked shipping containers while inspecting ships at sea..Navy taught me climbing and I cribbed a bunch off of here..Now I need to be alot more efficient, and alot better educated...gonna try to take the arbormaster courses this winter...

I originally just bought a very simple SRT rig..mech ascender, and prussik for a foot loop, as I was only doing a very tiny amount of tree work, mostly privately, or for myself...had absolutely no intrest in doing this professionally..started a little landscape company for sumpin to earn beans and taters with post navy retirement..and screwed the pooch by putting the words tree work on my business card along with all the organic gardening, lawn care, installation eco friendly stuff...yadda...I wanted to do a little upsell tree pruning, maybe a bit of storm damage removal..just to climb some, and basically woodbooga for free firewood (that is cut right and not off of craigslist..) well, up until today, I couldn't get a yard to mow to save my bloody life...cripes..."Oh you do tree work? I want that one and that one and that one gone, and all those pruned, what will that cost me...jeeezz...it has blown up on me. one job...like eight referrals later...oh well, I will go with the flow, and do the jobs that come to me...except the ones beyond my skill...turned down a 110 foot pine the other day, high dollar extremely confined takedown..nahh, it would be fun, but without a crane..not going there..

Got into a Ddrt rig the first time a couple days ago...and to think, I have been doing it the hard way...I am a born again convert...me likey rig...

Sorry to babble, just alot of stuff rolling around the gourd tonight....thanks for the input guys, I appreciate the support, so to speak.

Oh, the reason I did not go with the tremotion, well, aside from 150 bucks, was that they don't make it small enough for me..lol..built like olive oyle, hung like a bull...

holding it up isn't the prob..I have an older bucky, that is a bit too big...good god that thing is a pain..

Got my saddle...fit like a glove right out of the box...me likey, so far...climbing tomorrow.

I just bought the Cougar, no likey, the independent legs are too weird for me, I am very skinny 5'8" 135lbs, Gonna sell it and go back to a Buck or weaver basic. I have tried the big pads on the back, feels like it is covering my whole back, drives me nuts!
