Just a few photos of what I use for storage of my slabs. When first cut, they go into the covered car port which cost me about $200. That works well for the time needed for air drying. I like it because the wind doesnt whistle through the pile in the summer and dry it too fast. I will open and close the door on it as I feel I need to get moisutre out of the enclosure. I usually open it at night so that the sun doesnt get onto the wood.
If I need room I will move the stuff that is dry to the outside or if I am going to use the wood in the near future I move it into the shop and stack it on the dolley's as pictured and I can move it around, get it out of the way while I am working.
Here is what i have drying, a good selection so far.
Spalted birch
Elm
Chestnut
Big Leaf Maple
Claro Walnut - purchased
Lodgepole pine
Ponderosa pine
Cedar
Maple burl
Fruit cherry
Applewood
Apricot
