Hi folks, I am slowly stepping up to bigger jobs and am seeking some advice on a job involving 4 slash pine trees. The trees are 20 meters each and fairly healthy specimens with plenty of branches/foliage. Seeing as there will be quite a bit of cutting to be done, is there an issue of resin/gum on the bar/chain during a job which I am anticipating will take me around 3 to 4 hours.

I am trying to sort time contraints so any periodic cleaning or bar and chain swaps I would like to sort out prior.

Thanks

Thanks. I have only felled a few pines with a single felling cut. I do though remember putting my gear on the stump .............

Pine is a soft wood and cuts easily. You will see the sap after you have cut and start the clean up.We spend more time washing clothes than cleaning saws after a pine job.:bang:

It will build up on the inside of the saw, where the bar attaches.

Not a big deal, just at the end of the day make sure to take the cover off and clean it up. I dont like to leave crud on my saws.

It shouldnt build up on the actual chain and mess anything up.
