Yes you can. I know of a person (definitely not me) who ate one for a dollar bet. His warning? Do not chase it down with beer. There was a reaction, he kept it down, but the taste was horrible after the swig of beer.

I know of a puppy who ate slugs. The slime is hard to get off fur, so if you have a beard, don't get slime on it.

Knock yourself out. I'll pass:tongue2: I've put some weird stuff past my lips. Slugs will never be one of them:taped: I would like to see it however. I'll be the old gray haired fart with a bucket in his hand!

kid, thoughs can's your talking about ar joke can's. i've got one around here somewere. i hear the bannana slugs are good, taste like bannana's.:msp_wink:

Seems to me the old Elma Slug festival always included a sample of "Slug Cuisine"? Can't say I was ever brave enough to try any, and I have no idea how to prepare a slug, but I'n pretty sure they have been eaten on purpose in recent history.

A friend's favorite saying about such things is, "Dip it in butter and garlic and it will be edible." Or something of that ilk. She and husband have eaten escargot, which seems like it should be related. But slugs just seem slimier, and I'm starting to feel icky thinking about it.

I was just kind of curious. I eatensome highly delicious sea snails. We had maybe 1000 of the slugs living in the back yard, which used to be fulll of dogs. . There where brown ones with little hoods and big ones that looked kind of yellow with bigger hoods. They sure don't like break cleaner! I felt bad for torturing them so I got them some sluggo. They are all gone now. . .

As for din din, I'l stick to dungeness. .

Woose.

Escargot is the cat's ass, but, if I'm not mistaken aren't a lot of the bigger slugs actually pretty poisonous?

Like get paralyzed and go blind or crap yourself to death poisonous

I was just under my house investigating & measuring for insulation & vapor barrier when I came across one so big that it looked like him & his friends could tote me away! Big, yellow with black spots.

I may have to catch one and feed it cat food. I found one in a live trap that ate all the catfood, and it was huge. We mostly have the evil, non native ones here.

The slug challenge. How big can they get?

i've seen them at least a foot long.

Question: How do you remove the slime? I've accidently grabbed slugs and have not found anything to take the slime off, except steel wool. Salt doesn't work. Icky stuff, that slime.
