yep, just turn the bit with your fingers and it goes right through. First time I tried this I was about 13 and figured the drill press would be the way to go, after all I could really control that right The drill went through the nail instantly and grabed into the meat underneith :jawdrop: man did that hurt, guess you could say I had to learn some things the hard way

That how i relieved the pain when i smashed my thumb...... only takes a second to push it through your nail. You'll be happy you did !

And if you go to the emergency room, that is what they will do anyhow. That is from experience

I wouldn't do it on a toe because of the risk of infection from having it in in a shoe all day. Not the cleanest place for what kind of amounts to a puncture wound after it's been drilled.

Thats why I prefer to use a hot needle, it is sterile when heated to red hot.
If it is a foot clean around the hole first and once the pressure has been released use a drop of superglue to fill the hole and seal it.
If you make the hole close to the end of the finger it will grow out faster.
