I play a lot of racquetball and have a constant supply of these shoes. I wear them with and without spikes. They have gummy bottoms. They are easy on tree bark, good for climbing, extremely comfortable as they are foot form fitted and they are very tough to put up with movement of the sport. I like to feel what is under my feet in the tree. Been wearing them (not the same pair haha) for 35 years and are worth a once in a blue moon log drop on them. You can bet if a log is going down they are gettin outa the way.

I used to wear boots and have many nice pairs of Redwings but don't wear them for work.

Eeeeeeeeeek.

I am a PPE nazi on my job sites. All my crew wear EVERYTHING required and often beyond. Its my opinion that the job is dangerous enough without adding to the risk by skimping on things like proper footwear.

For climbs with spurs its Haix Protectors, for ground work and spurless climbs its whatever pair of comfortable high ankle safety boots you happen to have.

I once had a ground crew worker tell me they didnt need safety boots because they always worked carefully. So I stood on her foot and after the cursing was over, sent her home for her boots. Suprisingly we are still married but its no surprise that she still has all her toes.

Not skimping here outo, comfort is number one on my list and lightness. Haven't taken a paycheck from anyone since Uncle Sam in 1970, but if I did you just got crossed off my list as you sound just a tad anal retentive.

That stepping on the toes part of your boot inquisition (Nazi reference haha) wouldn't play well with the opposite sex. You may have to have a dentist on retainer.:hmm3grin2orange: (your teeth would no longer have this appearance)

Dentist shmentist, my wife is Macedonian. I have to keep a bodyguard on retainer!

On the other hand, we have an accident free record in every single business we have ever owned.

And as for being anal Dave, since when did you care about my ass you smooth talker you....

10" Whites Smokejumpers 6 months of the year. Insulated steel toe pack boots for the long VT winter. Great with spikes on.
