Vancouver BC has got 2 feet of snow on the ground with another 6" of rain in 24 hours. I traveled here to work storms tuesday at 2:30AM. Sounds like within 12 hours or so you won't be able to leave Vancouver. Lots of mudslides, avalanches lower land flooding and now all the huge rivers are bursting. Millions of people here and only 1 open road in or out :)

Forgot to add for all you who have never been to Vancouver when it snows. Most people there panic and run around screaming, watching them drive is very entertaining. And there are about five roads out.

This is not Slowp - Just to let know word has come from the north and she is barley surviving as she is almost out of ketchup. However her spirits are good and while she is not high she is dry and just plain marooned - good news the huckleberries are okay! Hope to be in contact when long distance returns - something obscure about the phone lines...

I would love to see and feel some rain right now. Since Nov we've had cold, dry weather. It has been -30C in the mornings for about the last full month.Even had -40 a few days ago [-40C AND -40F are the same]. We only have about 8 inchs of snow accumualated since Nov. and its not going leave until April. Lake ice is over 2 feet thick now, probably will have 4foot in another month. One plus here ,the sun shines brightly every day for about7-8 hrs, when the temps get warmer it is cloudy and snowing.Plus I guess we do have one of the best logging climates in the world with our stable weather. But I would love to see some rain!:)

7-8 hrs of sun...really??? shoot you must be way to the south.Non stop high pressures here, straight from siberia with more to come. After they move through Alberta and get colder, they should be ready for general consumption in the heartland of america.

Yes and that Alberta oil also goes with it into the heartland.
I'm right in the middle of Manitoba 25 miles from the Saskatchewan border[The Pas]. Your in Alaska [ way up north]. In the shortest days of Dec we were down to 7 hr sunlight now were up to almost 8. I drive 2 hrs north of here and I notice the shorter days and longer days in summer.:)
