One thing that Beasty should respect is that these guys are used to doing their own little ******** they way they like and probably do get a nervous when he comes in. They get worked up because of the expectations they already have no intent, desire or will to meet. In their minds no one can meet the expectations, some have no idea what the expectations even are, so there comes a point where they purposelessly have some sort of breakdown in hopes the ride will stop so they can too. But it doesn't stop and they need Beasty to solve the problem but that makes them look bad so they curse him, find fault, CONTRIVE fault. They do not respect or appreciate him, what he knows, what he does. All they appreciate is there own little problems, problems that to me and Beasty require people shutting up and doing what they are told instead of yapping about other things because its all in a day's work to us.

Well, I don't know if a guy should be respecting that but he should be wary.

Is your help is expected to endure listening to all that rhetoric too? Lol. I'd offer at least a couple extra bucks an hour if you expect all that out of a guy too. Just saying.

One guy called me an A-hole during a heated disagreement a few years ago. My reply? "I'm no ordinary A-hole, son. I am MISTER A-hole to you! If you want to prove you're a bigger A-hole, bring it on!" The joker about cracked a rib laughing so hard ... and I wound up getting what I wanted.

Are guys like me and Beasty gonna get paid more for having to put up with them?

My best advice beast is to just stay away from the guy. I know his type and dont like em. When you mentioned that if his rigging set up didnt work then it was because you cut it wrong that just brought back some memories. Not good ones either. Now you just have to decide if his money is worth putting up with his ****. The main thing is that you felt unsafe and told him to stick it. But I have a feeling this will blow over and you will hear from him again. probably soon. But if you can avoid his type I would advise it. But my advice doesnt pay your bills.

I went to that job today to pick up gear. I was nice as could be. They had two bobcats hooked to a leaner and getting ready to pull it over. One of the skidsteers didn't pull and the other punched it and almost flipped over backwards. Lot of drama. I'd of turned it with one rope tied off to a stump, but everyone does it different I guess. Rest the crew was loving it I think when I calmly collected my gear and said see you later. A half hour later he calls and ask me what just happened? Did you just quit? I guess I did. Tomorrow Im removing a tree at a city park in Redlands for the City Arborist.
I like working with different crews and doing difficult trees and cool projects. I know I should settle down and get a real job but I like what Im doing now. My resume is getting fatter and better all the time. If only I knew then what I know now, I could of gone far I think, but at 56 my days may be numbered as a climber, So I want to enjoy them while I can.

The only shame is that you didn't snap a pic with your cell and post it when the skid steer about turned over lol.

You are an A hole beast, and you know it ;-) I've started back contract climbing a bit recently because things are slower this year than last and I'd rather be working than hanging around at home with nothing to do. Sure reminds me why I gave up contract climbing a couple years ago!

I dunno, but if you listen to this song one can't help wondering if it fits this situation. I think it hits it on the head but I could be wrong. I think the writer of this song is describing what its like to be around people who are blinded by dreams and refuse to see reality. I think the sound of silence is a deafening desperate roar.

True that, Brother! Very healthy, sane perspective. ;) As a sexagenarian the aches and pains will kick in and you'll be a part-timer for sure. With a wraptor I can climb half-time at 63, but not as productively as the days of yore. Your attitude is healthy, so maybe your body will stay that way too.

You always have the right to refusal if you think that it is not safe or are not comfortable with it. better to do it in a way your comfortable with or not do it at all if the owner doesn't like it than that really isn't someone you want to be working for I'm glad your out of a place that the owner acts like that.
