Dragged this Rex out. Tag says it began life as a Super Rex and the carb supports that. However, the cylinder was swapped to a non auto-oiling 125cc cylinder. I messed with it briefly several years ago but set it aside. I got a replacement auto-oiling cylinder recently so I decided to finish it. Swapped the oiler stuff as well-pump and valve were worn. Had to switch tanks. The original leaked. Had to find the right style. Some are notched for the handle, some are not. Finally, it loved ripping the starter handle out of my hand. Found the points set too wide. Reset to .020 and it fired right up. All I am missing is the thin aluminum fuel tank guard. And, it would be cool to find a Super Rex top end to make it original. I still have the carb and the case has the proper tag.

Now THAT is a beast.........!

Here’s mine Chris, it’s a 125 and runs great. Manual oiler( is hard to remember) works when used. I sent a parts saw out west to our friend @Jay Hansen awhile back. I’m not volunteering him, but he would help if he could. View attachment 1178326

Thanks. Nice 125. I have one of those as well as an early, many-colored Rex.
What are the 2 orange ones on the shelf up high? I have 3 635s.

Chris, I checked the saw Jim sent me and the aluminum tank shield is missing a section. I have a couple more in another building but I'm nearly certain the shield is in worse shape yet on them. I will, however check to see if either of them has a usable super jug. It will probably take me a couple of days to get to it.

Wow. Thanks for looking into this. I was just dreaming about the top end. Even a marginal aluminum shield is preferable to the nothing I have. Take you time and thanks.
