Bulk firewood can also be purchased by weight, in ton measurements, if it is weighed on a certified scale. Any other unit of measurement, such as rick, rack, face cord, or truckload, is prohibited by law. “Truckload” portions vary from dealer to dealer and can be misleading to consumers, who often buy wood in order to cut their heating bills.
Thank God we have them to protect us from that threat of ricks and face cords and the evil "truckload"
Did notice while on their site that there is some movement restrictions on Ash do to the Ash borer. Didn't know about this
Before moving firewood this winter, homeowners and campers also should be aware of Emerald Ash Borer, an exotic insect pest from Asia, and the department's resulting regulated areas in northwest Ohio. The devastating bug, which can be inadvertently spread through infested ash firewood, is a threat to Ohio's ash trees. Currently, regulated areas include Hicksville Township in Defiance County and the area formed by Lucas County northwest of the Maumee River, Fulton County east of State Route 109, and Henry County east of State Route 109 and north of the Maumee River. A similar ban also restricts the movement of ash materials, including ash firewood, from Michigan into Ohio. It is illegal to move ash firewood from these regulated areas. Almost everything I burn is Elm due to having to keep the dead ones cleaned up, Dutch Elm I believe is the name of that one.
