Was cleaning out the shed somewhat and already had a bunch of saws out, so I gathered up some of the biggest ones for a photo op. Some I found locally, some from members here, some from E-bay. All of them run, and run well.

Anyhoo, what do you think??

Nice collection. That picture should be in a calender.
Now all you need to add is the MS441:cheers:

What is your street address?

What kind of dog do you own?

What is his preferred type of cat to play with? :hmm3grin2orange:

Chaser

(Very NICE, could you list what's in the pic? Don't care which is which, just a general list of the iron represented).

The saws in the pic are (from the back):

Stihl Lightning, 070AV, 090AV, 090G, 084, Mac SP125, Husky 2100 ported, Homey 2100, Jonsered 920, 930. Standing is the Stihl 075 on GB mill, and then the little Stihl 020AVP.

My dog is a little Papillon, but she's wimpier than she seems.

I needed that laugh today. One of the funniest posts in a while.

Definitely some heavy duty cuttin' machines!

You aren't kidding. I used the 090G the other day to block up some logs. I had every inch of the bar buried and it didn't break a sweat. In fact, when I made the first upcut, I almost fell backwards. Wasn't ready for the push and pull of a gear drive.

Chris,

That's an impressive list, what's the total cc of them all together?

Chris,

The Stihl 090G is a nice saw. I love running mine. The 090G with the 66mm piston is real nice. The 2100 looks excellent. One of these days I will pull a dozen or so 2100's out and take a pice but none of them will look that good. You need to add a 3100G to that collection.

I would love to add a 3100G to my repertoire. I know that Ray Benson, who lives somewhere near me, has one but I doubt he'd ever let it go.

As far as the 090G, mine is very original so I doubt it has the large bore barrel. Doesn't bother me, though. It is plenty strong the way it is, and I want my stuff to last.

I am new here and have a question about one of the saws. If i can count correctly, the husky has the uncovered external air filter. I have a Sachs 166 that has the same setup. It is even a K&N filter. I wondered if this is a factory setup or if somebody just modified it, because I have seen other 166's with normal air filters. I know this is an old saw but i hope it doesn't quit me because i haven't found much info on the saw. I have already been to the saw link on this sight but haven't found much out besides that. Thanks

Well, I didn't modify it but it is certainly not factory. Underneath the filter there is a velocity stack. All in all, the 2100 is probably my favorite saw to run. Has a real nice feel, especially for its size. Then again, it has been awhile since I've used my redlight 066.

A 166 Dolmar is another big saw I would love to get my hands on.

Chris,

The 090G could be ordered new with a 66mm piston. This was done primarily on the coast. I have never heard of any problems with their longevity. As for the 3100 they are around and can be aquired.
