Hey guys down in southeast we do a lot of framing here with yellow pine . My brother has a saw mill gonna cut some lumber for some framing. If I wanted a 2x4 or say 1/ 1/2 x 3 1/2. Should I cut it thicker like 1 5/8 x 3 5/8 ? How much does pine shrink? Thanks in advance

Yep I'd say go that 1/8 thicker to allow for shrinkage, etc. Doing construction out here in Oregon, when I got a unit of wet fir 2x4s the actual thickness tended to be 1-9/16 from the mill.
Coming up a tad thick is better than not allowing for shrinkage.

Thank u sir I needed that second opinion

That pine lumber won't be stamped, so not suitable for framing if work requires inspection (in most areas).
