sorry, i dont know what a "postcard" is...looks like the oad has part of an old treehouse in it. like maybey it was cantilevered or between there ans another tree. and the pine? is it really a tree? kind of fuzzy. looks like i should be looking for a ghost or some...

unusual

the oak was ancient, quite large diameter, it had massive holes in it and was boarded up and held together with iron rings (all old work im assuming) the photo shows two thirds of teh trees height.

the pine i'll leave open to others to guess, you are along the right lines though (not the ghost bit).

as for postcards, they are what you send when on holiday or vacation. on the tv when they had competitions they would get you to send in a postcard with your details. hence the phrase.

jason, i feel like i am teaching you many new words tonight.

the pine looks to me like one of those camoflaged cell-phone towers that are popping up all over the place...

the oak just looks really old and gnarled. what is it, a black or swamp?
as for the pine, very unspecial to me.

is the pine special because you have been eating magic mushrooms?

The pine lost its top, and its 3 distinct whorls of branches give it an extra-lifelike form to me. I don't see the cellphone tower resemblance.

THe oak looks very special. I'd like to live close to it.

mobile mast

???? yu got it, ive seen a few mobile masts like it (cell phone towers), they are popular around Stirling (a Scottish city). might need a diamond tipped chain to fell it?

think the oak was just a plain old English (Quercus robur). sorry we always meant to stop and have a look but for some reason (probably the rain) we didnt.

Thats a little more realistic than some phone(y) trees I've seen around!
