Yes you can change your 346 over to run the 3/8 chain or run the 8 pin in .325.
I have seen a few variations on the 346.Some of them come with a spur sprocket and some have the rim.If yours has the spur you will need to replace the drum. You will also need to replace the oil pump drive gear,if you convert it over from the spur design. For some odd reason Husky used different drive gears on the two sprocket styles.

Hey Brian, I`d like to know who at CCD gave you the bum dope? Did you happen to catch the name? Dan told the whole, true story.

Here's two of my toys, which I stole from Lambert last spring--won each of em on ebay 20 minutes apart! The 372 is only Walkerized but is a great runner. The 346 had magic worked on it by our king salmon king Dennis. It is an amazing lil saw---awesome with the 16 inch bar and 3/8 th pitch. Still peppy with a 20 inch bar and .325--- a better length bar for blocking down our big western conifers. But it really shines with the 16 inch bar. I also have a 488 Shindaiwa which dennis also built. It is almost as fast, but weighs 1/2 lb less, also a very nice saw.

Brian,

I am anal about keeping my saws clean, and in like new condition. It was new in that picture, but not anymore. Its amazing how much power that little saw has. I dont make a living with any saws but they sure do come in handy sometimes. That saw will be donated to my father before too long and ill be picking up a PP346xp to replace it.

Just to let you know, my 346 actually came with a 3/8" sprocket on it from the factory supposedly. I bought it straight from walker's and he obviously didnt check that cause he sent me a .325 bar and 3 chains. What a pain, i ended up just buying a 3/8" bar and using the .325 stuff on a 55.

I don't think Oregon makes a 8-pin .325 rim in a small 7 spline. A 9-pin .325 rim is available in small 7 spline. And so is a 3/8-7 for a small 7 spline.
