sprocket nose freezeing

I have a Stihl ms250 with an 18 inch bar and I have has a lot of problems with the bar nose sprocket freezeing up.

I use the saw about 2 hours a week and do a lot of ripping to cut the pith out of logs that are 12 to 20 inches. I have the Stihl recomended chains and bars for it.

I am pretty good about cleaning the saw and having sharp chains.


Any idea what my problem might be? Any advice on how to best clean the bars nose sprocket?

Chain too tight and now sprocket shot. Buy a new bar or replace
tip if replaceable

Maybe chain to loose and keeps getting junk in it.
