spruce disease

there are alot of norway spruce dieing from the bottom up. The bottom branches brown up and it slowly spreads up the tree. any ideas and treatments?

Drought

Did you have a severe drought last year ?
thats what is nuking them in Cincinnati

Alot of the spruces that are dying around here have cytospora canker. We had a terrible drought last year and now its spring you can see the effects.
