I'm going to order a new 1/2" line, stable braid probably. I'm wondering if anyone has gotten one with a steel thimble spliced in the end for light rigging. Also, I've always used knots, but I'm now thinking of going with a steel carabiner. Any recommendations?

Thanks

Jeff

I wouldn't bother paying for a splice and I'd never use a steel thimble. We use steel biners almost exclusively for rigging. If you're just doing light rigging tie a bowline and use a biner. It's quick and easy but if you get sloppy on small diameter or smooth bark stuff you may watch a piece slide right out. Learn to splice. Stable braid is easy to splice and you won't feel so bad about shortening a worn end if it doesn't have a factory splice in it.

Good plan. Thanks. I've never used biners before for rigging, should be fun. I think I'll order monday. Thanks again.
