1) Place your left hand on the top handle and keep it there.
2) With your right hand, grab the rear handle and pull the throttle.
3) Your thumb is already in perfect position, push the switch down to the last position.
4) Pull starter handle with your RIGHT hand, pulling straight up on the starter handle (drop starting drags the rope out at a sharp angle and wears out the starter rope).
5) After the engine sparks, move the switch up one notch (fast idle position).
6) pull the starter handle again, engine should fire up.
7) Blip the throttle and the switch will move off the fast idle position to normal 'on' position.
*Note- If you drop-start saws, you may not like the switch. It is very simple and reliable when the proper starting procedure is used. People who drop start saws also have to replace starter ropes on a regular basis. Not to mention the safety issues.
