Hello I was wondering if any of you use stens parts and if they are any good ?

Stens parts are usually good quality. When I had my lawn equipment store, I ordered lots of parts from Stens every week. They were one of my main aftermarket suppliers.

Ok thanks. I get a some parts from them too . But lately I needed some parts that they didn't have where do you get those from ?

Depends on what parts you are looking for. Stens also owns a company called "J.Thomas". Another possibility is "Rotary", but they only sell wholesale to dealers, I think.
What are you looking for?

I had an old onan cck-s engine a few ago that needed points I ended up ordering that on ebay and the points were as cheaply made as I ever saw . I am a stens dealer for a couple months now and I like there customer service very well but just wanted to make sure I'm not putting parts in that are going to fail pretty quickly.

As I mentioned, Stens has very good quality parts. Rotary does too. I was set up with both, as sometimes one would have what the other didn't have.
Onan parts are always going to be a problem. I never found a good aftermarket source for Onan parts, but rarely saw an Onan come into the shop anyway. I just got the few parts I needed from an Onan dealer, who specialized in Onan RV gensets. He could usually find what I needed.

Ok thanks . Redmax has been another problem as well stens doesn't have much for those .

Stens parts as a whole are high quality but be very cautious and double check OEM parts prices against stens. I find that about 50% of stens parts can be bought OEM for very close to the same price. Oregon o p e parts has some stuff as well.

Alternatives to stens are... Oregon o p e, prime, rotary.... If your not a dealer for OEM lines get setup with those four and it will give you a selection of parts to cover 75% of most common repairs albeit with AM parts that are sometimes more than oem but at least you can get the job done without relying on sometimes crappy local dealers

I was a dealer for Redmax, so I really never had parts problems there. however, you are correct about lack of aftermarket availability for Redmax units.
