Hi Guys I have a 12 year old ported Sthil 066 I use with a logosol chainsaw mill with a variety of bar sizes (maybe 20" - 32" bars). Seems like the oiler is not working as well as I remember. I've taken it to the dealer and they said its oiling but the oil tank doesn't seem to run down as much as before. I even said screw it and replaced the oiler myself. My question is with the oil volume screw on the bottom set to max setting how much oil is should be used? Seems like after I go through a full tank the oil only drops maybe 1/2 inch in the oil tank. I used to think it was one tank oil per two tanks gas (even though I always fill oil and gas at the time). Any thoughts on what others are experiencing?

I have a Ms 660 that oil well at first then seemed to slowly oil less no matter where I set the adjustment screw. Turned out to be the spring clip that wraps around the plastic gear - it slipped around the gear when the saw warmed up and did not spin it enough, although it was still pumping some oil.

3/4 tank oil to one tank fuel with the HO oiler.

Standard Oiler is 1122 640 3205
HO oiler is 1122 640 3201

Thanks for the suggestions.....I will check the oil filter. To be honest I did not even know there was an oil pickup filter. One side story....since I used the 066 to mill on a logosol it was kept in one spot and I thought since all that oil was piling up in the sawdust I thought maybe I'd use biodegradable oil. BIG mistake. I got stuff called "Motion Lotion" from baileys. If you left the saw idle for a while the oil congealed and turned to something akin to pine pitch. The chain would not slide on the bar and it was terrible. Maybe the oil filter got clogged with thickened biodegradable oil. I'll check it. Since then for me all I use is straight 100% non eco friendly (but effective) bar oil.

After the dealer looked at it and said the oiler was working I did not want to spend a lot of money to replace a pump that they said was working. I bought one off ebay and switched it out, including a new work gear and spring. Sadly....not the HD oiler.

I'll check the filter and report back.
