Sticking throttle on Mac 3200 series

I have a Mac 3200 series saw that I use for clean-up and firewood harvesting. The throttle trigger has recently started to stick wide open and requires a "double tap" to disengage it. Is this endemic to this model and can something be done about it without taking the unit completely apart? The nearest professional repair location is miles away. Thanks in advance.
