Stihl 011 AV?

Hi Guy's here I am with another question. I got a 011 AV Stihl in pieces, my question is on the muffler it is two piece. Does it have a gasket between the two pieces or does the metal just meet for a seal. I have a new manifold gasket but there was so much carbon build up on the muffler pieces between them when I cleaned them off it almost looked like cooked gasket. Thanks for any advise or help?? Looks like it had a sealer at the factory, but have had many apart with no signs of sealer and they did not leak.

You can seal the two halves with Walker Acoustiseal which is automotive muffler cement available at any auto parts store. This also works on the tin mufflers we are so fond of "opening up" to seal the face to the base.
