Hi, I’m new here, thanks for letting me join the Arboristsite.
I’ve just purchased a Stihl 020AV that needs an overhaul and clean up. She’s an old girl and has done some work but overall pretty tidy. While dismantling the piston I noticed that one end of the wrist pin (gudgeon pin if you are British) is solid or blind, just an open hole at one end. All other pins I have seen have been hollow or open through and through the centre.
So finally my question: is this normal / standard for this model / part?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Matt.
