Stihl 024 AVS Woodboss (Super) x MS 170 compatability

Hello I am new to this forum.

I own a Stihl MS170, also someone gave me a Stihl 024 AVS Woodboss for parts.

My question is can a 024 Super engine fit in a MS170 Chassis? I do not care about the top cover, I did however notice on the 024 the crank case pretty much just consist of the shell of the chainsaw, on the other hand the MS170 has a lower engine pan I believe that covers the crankshaft assembly.

I was thinking of taking the 024 crankshaft assembly, piston, cylinder head and putting it on the MS170. The bolt pattern looks the exact same for the head bolts.

Look at how both are made and you will know quickly. 170 is a plastic clamshell saw. 024 is a mag cased saw with a bolt on cylinder to crankcase.

Nope. Completely different design. I think the only interchangeable parts are the fuel filter and the spark plug.
