Can I run the 3/8 PICCO PM, if I have a 3/8 rim sprocket & .050 bar
with 3/8 sprocket tip? I do not have a .050 bar to try it on but
if it will work I will buy one.

I read some of the older post, but didn't come away with a
clear answer.

Thanks, Gary

I seem to recall that the consensus was that you can run 3/8LP on an 026. Not quite sure why you'd want to, but you can.

Can't find where I saved my 026 manuals/IPL, but I'm sure someone has the P/N ready at hand.

You really need a picco bar .. hard to find on the 026 mount as Stihl hasn't sold it in the USA for a long time.
Picco, even though it's called 3/8, is 0.365 not 0.375..

Bad idea - if you want narrow kerf chain on the 260, go for the Oregon Microlite bar (if availiablle in D025) or similar Carlton bar, and .325 95VP or H30 chain.

I'm cutting a lot of eastern red ceder, These cedars have grown
up in a open field and have limbs from the ground up, lots & lots of
limbs, most of the limbs are less than 2" in dia. Have been using
a 200T but after 10 tanks a day for 5 days in a row (Vacation) it's killing my
right hand's little finger. I really like the PM chain on the 200T but
like the PMN chain on it even better, so I would like to try the PM chain
on the 026.

I believe logosol has the right bar.. they resell the Picco Stihl bars is the USA for milling. I agree with you.. the PM chain is real nice... but the pmn would be unsafe on an 026..

Lake, So if I do it would it be better to use a solid nose
bar? And is there a 3/8 PICCO rim sprocket that will fit
the 026?

Why do you think this is a bad idea?

Thanks, Gary
