Hey Hey (Stihl 026)

Replacing my oil pump, the one on the saw is plastic and the replacement is metal. The replacement one, where the worm gear goes (hole) is bigger then the orig one.

How do I make this work?

Can you post a pic ,its much easier to determine what you are working with. I have changed many of them over and never had a problem.

We all know AM parts are not always compatible or comparable to OEM, but does the oil pump drive and arm fit correctly inside the oil pump/ If it does and both the pump and drive arm all fit ok then they may all work together to pump oil to the bar.

For me and my swaps it has always been with OEM parts, I stay as far away as can be from using AM parts, they may work but most of the saws I work on will be used commercially and the owners don`t want any further breakdowns that = downtime for them. They don`t trust AM parts any more than I do.

Yeah, you have the wrong pump. To use the adjustable one you have to swap out the ring and washer, worm gear and drive arm and clutch drum from the pro model.
