I picked up an old 028 couple years ago & i know parts tough to get these days.
Only psid $75 for it as was just to get me through wood that winter,(bought Logs), and it was acting Even-More tired this year during winter wood cutting.

This deal came up locally and I'm wondering if the parts will work as i believe mine is Not the Wood Boss series.

Thanks for Any/All help!

Well, hard to answer this from what we see.
There are actually 4 sizes of 028. You would be concerned with a Wood Boss and an AV. They can be points or electronic.
But the question is why is the present saw having issues? What is it doing? Many choices but nothing is known without diagnosis.
Are you able to complete this task?

well, mine came with broken handle, rough shape overall but it still got me through that winter's wood.
I was using a longer bar on it,(24" I think), so that may have been more than it wanted to deal with as it got Hot and Tired often and I had to let it cool down before using again towards end.
I pulled the muffler just for some basic looks at cyl. and of course it was far from perfect so I attributed that as part of issue(s) as well. Chain sprocket fairly worn, etc. but it got me through the Good-size logs I had delivered so just held onto it,(Again was a $75 saw).
All I did to it really was put a new carb in it and new air filter.
Pretty much same scenario this year and I had to borrow another saw to get through the last of it.
Just wondering if be worth seeing what parts I may be able to use on this local deal,(if Any), Thanks!
~Mine is the 028 AV Super btw~

This was Last year, this year similar size logs but did not make thru them all without borrowing a newer saw to finish.
