Hi. Been having a problem with my new to me 028 it isn't oiling but it looks like oil may be coming out next to the muffler. I've cleaned out a small hole that looks to be in back of the oiling outlet but I can't see a hole in there. I was wondering if it is supposed to have some sort of a plug in it. I'll try to post a picture showing the area. Thanks20250304_152830.jpg

Can you put a wire (or something small, or spray through it) and have it come out at the bar output hole? If yes, it must be plugged so as not to plug the feed. If not, you should be OK.
I forgot to look at work. Can't say I ever saw this issue on an 028. BUT, never say never.

Ok so I got a new gear for the oil pump that has a metal worm gear instead of the plastic (oil pump gear is plastic) I reassembled the saw and it started to pump oil. Nothing coming out of the hole that I pointed to. I’m thinking all the oil I was seeing was from the assembly when I replaced the top end and made the fuel mix really rich. I’m working on the second tank of gas so it’s just a regular mix now.
Thanks for the help.

BTW I did spray brake cleaner in that hole and it just sprayed back at me didn’t go anywhere else.
