Anybody have any ideas for this problem? I have a Stihl 028 AV that I have just given a complete tune up (fuel filter, fuel line, spark plug, carb rebuild, air filter, new fuel mix). The saw starts and idles fine but won't accelerate. I have tried to adjust the high and low speed screws and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

The chainbrake is not engaged.

I set the L and H screws at the factory setting (1 1/4 CCW) and adjust the L CW per the manual. I can coax the saw a little faster by screwing the H screw CW but not to full rpm.

You should be able to smell if it's too rich,,,,,, if it got a little better tweeking, I still bet it may be the fuel inlet-needle not closeing?

It just takes a few to recheck it.

Just remove the screen and see how she runs. You may have to remove the muffler to get to the screen. Screens can be burnt clean with a torch(off the saw and out of the muffler of course).

Thanks much for the advice. Cleaned the screen and it runs like a top.
