I've got an 028 Wood Boss that starts and idles great but won't rev up at all. It just wants to cough and sputter. I figure it's a carb problem. Anyone know where I can find a rebuild kit, or perhaps a new carb?

You can find both at a Stihl dealership. Have you tried adjusting it yet? Sounds rich just from what you described.

Before you go adjusting anything, I'd recommend rebuilding the carb and cleaning stuff out that way first. the majority of engines I see here that are ruined, normally, they needed a rebuild on the carb, but the owners decided to start turning screws and ruined it.

Thanks a lot guys, I was figuring a carb rebuild was in order. That's what I had to do with 2 John Deere snowmobiles I picked up last year. Made a world of difference!!!!

Check the muffler out to make sure it's not clogged up. Is it pretty quiet when it's idling? If so, there's a good place to start.
