BTW did the Muffler mod give ya a good boost???

I just wanted to stop by and say thanks to everyone for helping out. I talked with curt and ordered a piston a while back. I ended up putting a hone to the cylinder and resurfaced the bore. The new piston and rings went in and I have a saw that is cranking again! Now that all seems good (cut up a bunch of trees over the past week), I need to go get me a new bar/chain....and no, I won't be borrowing out my saw again! I might borrow me out to help - I cut you haul/load/unload/stack:D , but the saw will have to be pryed from my cold dead fingers!

Thanks for all the help! By the way, I did a quick muffler mod on it while I was at it...gotta love the things you learn on these sites!

As to the muffler mod - quick and easy. Unfortunately I can't tell you if I get more from the saw, as I'm not really doing any cutting right now. It definitely has a new tone and is a little louder.

I'm not cutting because of several things: my chain is duller than a butter knife...the bar may be shot as well...no trees needing cutting right now...etc...etc...etc....

I did not want to invest in the bar/chain until I had this saw resurrected and running right again. Now I just have to order a bar/chain, and go find some trees to cut up. Unfortunately, my trees are cleaned up - I have to wait for a storm...OR...go start cutting down my neighbor's trees!:greenchainsaw:
