stihl 038 magnum2 vs. 460

[HH400EX]

not a pro, just a weekend warrior helping out friends and members of our church, clean up after the storms.
038 and 200t are what I have now.
will the 460 cut the bigger stuff that much faster than my 038.
038 has a 20 inch bar, was going to get a 24 inch on the 460

The 038 magnuum 2 is just really a lower rpm more torque-er (longer stroke) version of the MS440 (it is the same displacement). But for a 24 inch bar I doubt you would notice a whole lot of difference. I would just put the bar on the 038. Why spend the extra $$ for duplication unless the 038 is on it's last legs which I seriously doubt. They have a reputation of being darn near bullet-proof.

The 038 magnum is one of my all time favorite saws.

Quick question about the 038 while we're talking about it, would bucking spike part# 1122 664 0506 and 0501 be the same ones as an 066? they look similar but I'm not sure.

and I'm seeing a muffler that appears to have 3 outlet ports on it, I'm not sure if its a brazilian part or not.

I'm just asking since I'm buying an 038M soon, and would like to know which parts are available here in the US.
