Thank you to all the contributors on this list. As a result of your comments, I recently checked and replaced the seal on the crankshaft on the clutch side of my saw. Because of the bad seal, the crankcase could not supply enough pulse to the carburetor to get it to run decently at idle. At high RPM, it ran fine. After replacing the seal, it runs like new. The old saw is back in service. Thank you.As a follow-up, I cleaned the carb by boiling it in distilled water, and let it air dry. It didn't help with the over-revving. I took the saw into the dealership. They pressure tested it and found an air leak in the seal between the crankcase and the cylinder. The warranty recently ended, but I'll mention it to Bailey's anyways.
Thanks again.
